IIP Digital: U.S. Helps Mongolia Manage Waste from Construction Boom

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, is experiencing a construction boom and the U.S. Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) is helping Mongolians with the proper handling of hazardous materials from the construction. Through its five-year, $285 million compact, MCC is working with Millennium Challenge Account–Mongolia to ensure the adoption of the international standard for management of hazardous materials and wastes in the renovation or construction of buildings — an approach used only sparingly in Mongolia until recently. Construction often involves working with and around hazardous materials, which if left untreated can cause illness to workers, environmental destruction and long-term health problems. To read the full article, click hereU.S. Helps Mongolia Manage Waste from Construction Boom
