SourceSecurity.com: CEM Systems access control solution secures Oyu Tolgoi Copper and Gold mine

CEM Systems, part of Tyco Security Products, announced that Oyu Tolgoi Copper and Gold mine, Mongolia, has selected AC2000 SE to secure premises in the South Gobi region of the country. The Oyu Tolgoi site is located approximately 550 km south of the capital, Ulaanbaatar, and 80 km north of the Mongolia-China border. Based on discoveries at the site during the past nine years, independently verified estimates indicate that Oyu Tolgoi contains approximately 81 billion pounds of copper and 46 million ounces of gold in measured, indicated and inferred resources. The site is initially being developed as an open-pit mine with facilities being built on site to process and support the daily throughput of 100,000 tonnes of ore.
